"I grew up in a small town and spent my summers on one of the farms near my home. In this setting I developed a fascination for the textures of stone and wood, the moods of the meadows, old farms and cellar holes and earthen roads disappearing into the woods.

Rural life reached out to me. Enveloping this physical sense of a simpler time, the writings of Housman, Dickenson, Frost, Clare and others lifted me into a realm of expressive visualization, challenging me to create."
